In response to the questions about library budgets; I am finding that technology is eating up more and more of my book budget. In the last two years, close to half of my budget is going either to software or computer supplies, and my school is not even automated yet! We are expected to keep up with the latest technology, but we are not allocated more money to start a technology budget. So far, I have had control over allocating my budget as I see fit, but we have a new principal coming in this fall and I'll have to wait and see.
