Mary:

HP Deskjet 660 or Canon BJC-4100 both good, but are both nearly obsolete
now.New HP Deskjet 860? is faster and has more memory and more fonts than
either of the two mentioned.  Also, number of fonts vastly increases when
you import a word-processing program with lots of fonts.  It's not the
number of fonts you want to look at, but the no. of pages/min in b/w and
color AND memory.

Check Computer City or Office Depot stores if near you, or Best Buy.

If you don't require state-of-the-art you can get the 660 for very good
prices now.
