GEN: RFP request

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, Corvallis, Oregon, in
collaboration with Corvallis School District 509J, is requesting proposals
for a project to improve the quality and scope of school library
information services.  The consultant will identify community and district
standards and resources for information literacy and propose multiple
cost-effective models for improvement. The ideal consultant would have
school library experience, a knowledge of current research in the area of
information literacy, and the ability to build consensus on the best way
to provide school library services.  A certified media specialist and/or
MLS is preferred.  Proposals are due by August 15, 1996 and work is
scheduled to begin October 1, 1996.
