TECH: Too many fonts?

I would appreciate any help on this item.  I just attempted to download some
fonts from a CD-ROM disk I recently purchased.  About 1/2 the fonts
downloaded.   So, I went in to Systems Folder and dumped what I thought to be
alot of useless fonts.  However, now I have almost no basic fonts listed and
about 100 fonts which are fun to have but certainly not very good for
reports, etc.  When I am in my word processing program and pull down the font
menu, I have 128 fonts (most of which are the new ones).  I think I need some
kind of extra porgram which I can load and will hold my extra fonts.

Can anyone suggest a good program---and is it very difficult to load and use?
