I am also leaving my posotion because I am a librarian in a library aide
position. I will volunteer instead at my own whim. I do feel a sernse of
resaponsibility to guide the new person and plan to come in tyhe last
week of august when the new person starts, and if i do not get another
job will help out during the year. But there is some good news--our
district has finally realized the need for school librarians and there
are 2 possibly 3 full time middle school posotions opem\ning up.  There
have been very few people applying--also I have finally convinced some of
the elementary schools that they really need librarians rather than
keeping ai--des and looking for a "technology " person!! so if anyone is
interested in moving to the Bay area
San Mateo is between San Francisco and San Jose  and life is really nice he
SO ANYONE INTERESTED IN A JOB DESCRIBED AS
MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARIAN-MULTI-MEDIA CO-ORDINATOR-LIBRARY CREDENTIAL REQUIRED
OR INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED FOR ANY POSSIBLE OPENINGS
PLEASE PLEASE call the number and inquire. I keep telling my district
about all the great librarian's out there but we have only had 2 people
apply--one who was fired from the High School district because she didi
not turn on her computers all year!!! So send in those resumes so my
district will believe me Thaks
