How do you handle patron ID (barcode) numbers for circulation purposes?

I am using Follett CircPlus and can access from the screen very easily, but
had recently thought about a print list.

I have used a roledex with little success.
There is no room for barcodes on student's ID cards.

I was recently at another school where they had a printed list by
class/teacher for elementary school.  Teachers were included as well as a
page with unused barcodes to use to add students quickly - they just hand
wrote them at the end of the class list.  They took all the sheets and put
it with a cover & back into a spiral bind.  I guess this could work for HS
if done by year.

Any other suggestions would be great.
