The Lexington Public Schools announces an opening for a full-time High
School Library Media Specialist.  The job description is as follows:

Grades: 9-12

Qualifications:         Demonstrated teaching abilities; strong interpersonal
                        and communications skills; organizational and management
                        skills; knowledge of library systems including Internet,
                        CD ROM databases, on-line catalogs and automated
                        circulation.  A vision of the contributions school
                        library media centers can make in bringing a school
                        together through access to information is important.
                        MLS Degree preferred; experience necessary

Salary:                 Consistent with the LEA/LSC contract

There are plans to network the entire school system in the near future  as
well as a proposal to build a new library that will be the focus of a High
School Technology Center.  The position will provide an exceptional
opportunity to work with electronic information tools and integrate their
uses into the curriculum.
