new school/core collection

I have been asked to order a core collection for a new elementary school
to open in September 1996.  The school will open as k-5 and add grade 6
in fall 1997.  The LMC will be automated and have CD-ROM capabilities.
I am trying to construct an order that will take advantage of all
formats available.

Any help will be gratefully accepted.  All suggestions welcome.
