I admit to having a problem when we insist that children can ONLY
read "good" literature.

Why can we not promote the simple joy of reading? If by reading
Stine (not one of my favorites) children enjoy reading then one of
the greatest hurdles has been jumped.

How many adults only read Shakespeare, Dante, Milton? Not many.
I admit to enjoying Koontz. I also enjoy reading Thomas Merton.
They are not mutually exclusive.

Just my meandering thoughts.
