separate 7th & 8th grade buildings

Dear Fellow LM Netters,

Allow me to clarify my query regarding middle school configurations with
separate seventh and eighth grade buildings. I am interested in discovering
if anyone works in a district in which the seventh grade is in one building
and the eighth grade is in another; the pros and cons of that arrangement.

Thanks to all who responded regarding their experience with middle schools
in which the seventh and eighth grades are together.
