Middle School Medieval Unit

I have subscribed to LM_NET for a few weeks and have shared several
"nuggets" I have gleaned with our staff.  A middle grades teacher (6 and
7) is planning an interdisciplinary unit on medieval times (castles,
dragons, King Arthur, etc.) with emphasis on English and reading.  Having
listened to me expound on what a great resource this list is, she asked
me to post a request for ideas, activities or book suggestions which
would work with this unit.  TIA.
