REF: alternative ed

A teacher wants to know of programs/curriculums in schools that
are tailored to meet the needs of students who are "falling
throught the cracks"--not qualifying for learning disabled
programs but still in need of help.  I realize this is awfully
vague info, but that is her question and I would be grateful
for anyone who can give me leads on this one!  Thanks ever so
much (AGAIN),
