REF: dewey

Could someone explain why there are books on Africa and countries in Africa
in the 916's and also in the 960's? For instance, I have the book _Egypt, the
Land and its People_  in 916.2 V and _Ethiopia: the roof of Africa_ is 963 K.

Also, I just purchased _The Birth of a Whale_ by John Archambault and  it
lists 595.?  (sorry, it's at school and I am home) as its Dewey number which
seems entirely out of place for books on whales. Any helpful hints?

Unfortunately I do not have access to detailed Dewey information. Thanks for
any help you can provide.
