For the past 18 years, we have been doing a yearly reading week. For instance this year we did S.T.O.R.Y. Week standing for "Stories Top Our Reading Year". We had a variety of storytellers. Tom Pease, Kokopelli Puppets and Art Beaudry were presenters. All curriculum areas including music, art and phy ed tie into our theme. We used to have it in February but due to our Northern Wisconsin weather, we moved it to September to make it easier for our presenters. Our principal does not want this week held in the Fall. She would prefer a year long theme. Has anyone done this throughout an entire school year? What kind of activities do you do? She would like one activity a month. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We have 700 students Grades K-5 and a committee of 6 people to do the organizing.
