best days/times for book fairs

Book Fairs-I know we've been talking about the best, but what about talking
about:
        The best days and times
        Promotional ideas

I was going to switch from Scholastic this year, but Scholastic invaded the
Spokane market and basically took over this area.  We had a local vendor
that did book fairs, but now they've merged with Scholastic.  So,,,,, my
promised date of a book fair lead to my school not being on the list, and we
won't have the fair on conference week like we usually do.  Which prompts a
question I struggle with every year...

How many days do we have it?  Are any days better than others?  What types
of promotional things do you do for it?

I like Scholastic Book Fairs, but do not like the uneven distribution of
"incentives".  Different reps give different incentives - I wish the
incentives were uniform.

I do have a wonderful rep that is always courteous, helpful and very service
oriented.

Anyway, any help/advice would be appreciatedd.
