The quote "to see ourselves as others see us" is from the Robert Burns
poem, "To a Louse" .
"Oh wad some power the giftie gie us
To see oursel's as others see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us,
And foolish notion."
Found this in an old (1919) "Familiar Quotations by John Bartlett" just
given to me by my stepmother. It had been in my father's collection
forever! This is the advantage of being retired and able to jump up to do
research.
