Request for Book Title--elementary

An elderly neighbor was wishing for the title of a book she read as a
child about a boy who becomes small and visits an ant nest and a bee
"nest."  I ask here on the far fetched chance somebody can identify
this.  It would give her a lot of pleasure...  Thanks
