The key here is that you have no authority over her. You as the district librarian should address your concerns to the building principal and be ready to back up your position with concret reasons. At that point it is up to the building principal to either let his employee do whatever she wants or to support professional concerns. A lot depends upon just what your job description entails. In one of my past districts I was to order the books but when they arrived the aide had full descretion to put out only those titles which she approved. (Her son was on the school board) I tactfully decided that the district got what they wanted when they set up this farce and just let them do it their way. I didn't renew my contract with them the next year.
