I am in the process of reviewing software catalogs in order to recommend reading and math programs for site-license at our school.I would like to recommend programs that cover a fairly comprehensive range of basic reading or math skills taught in grades 3 through 5. In addition, I am interested in programs that provide data on student progress, allow teachers to customize skill areas to fit curriculum and student needs, and effectively prepare students for standardized tests in reading and math. Our school has a Macintosh classroom lab with an AppleTalk network, and most teachers have single Macintoshs in their rooms. I am most impressed with those reading and math programs offered by Davidson, MECC, and the Learning Company. However, I want to make sure we get programs which offer us the most for our money and those which will provide weekly learning activities which will challenge our students at each grade level. I would appreciate any helpful advice, information, or recommendations from those of you who have experience with some of the elementary reading and math programs offered by the companies that I have mentioned abover or other companies. Thanks. Becky Palgi, Media Specialist Lockhart Elementary (Grades 3-5) Knightdale, NC
