I am trying to find information on reading incentive programs for highschool students. Once jobs, sports and clubs start becoming more time consuming for my students, reading for fun and enjoyment seems to take a back seat. Once in a while a student will come in and brag about the fact they have gotten to be seniors without ever reading a whole book while in high school, *how sad?* I would like to find some ideas for class projects involving reading novels related to content areas. I remember someone last summer posting an idea for students reading a novel and then writing a research paper for their psychology class based on events the book. If you have any ideas which will incorperate reading into multiple areas of the curriculum, please send them to me. I am especially interested in giving my teachers a list of websites they can use to build reading into their plans and find out about reading incentive programs. I will post a hit. Thanks in advance for all the help I know I will get. This group is great! Carla L. Burmeister ========================================================================= * Carla L.
