Hello all,
I would raslly appreciate hearing form some of you colleagues on a
sensitive issue. I have been a H. S. Media Specialist in our district
for 31 yrs. Automation has always been on my front burner. We have
been automated for over 15 yrs. (1st. in our district)----used Dialog
on-line searching since 1988. We used the Internet in our Media Center
before Netscape using Golpher thru Delphi, the best access to the "Net"
at the time. Now we hav IAP's to choose from and think the district is
getting a t-1 line. I have been helping students and staff use the
Internet and send and receive e-mail on a daily bases for a couple yrs.
Problem: A staff member in another department has been asked, or
pushed his way in, to do the staff Internet training. I have taken 4
classes thru Spectrum Virtual University, invested in a personal
computer, magazines and books---plus taught graduate classes thru our
local university on library administration. I must add however the
staff person in question, is an excellent computer expert and is our
paid Webmaster.-----------(which I must add was what our
telecommunications club, that I started, wanted to do last yr.)
Should I not be upsset----or should I try to ignore the situation.
You know how I feel now or I would not be sending this to our listserv.
Please--- any help to calm me down would be appreciated.

                                                     TIA, Carolyn
