**** Dear Frank: Although I can't speak for other teacher-librarians, I have had experience with RSI (repetitive stree injury) from the following activities: (a) shelving and moving books (also, I am a short woman and this seems to exacerbate the problem) (b) stamping large quantities of books (c) hours at the computer, sitting at tables that are the wrong height, sitting on chairs that are the wrong height, and working on keyboards that have no wrist support. I am sorry that your wife's condition has been serious enough to warrant surgical intervention. So far, I've managed to get by with lots of Advil, and bouts of complete rest.
