Internet Listserv Query

In ther December, 1995 issue of Technology Connection in "Cool Sites on the
net" a  listserv called BIGQUAKE  was listed with an address of

        listserv@neis.cr.usgs.gov

A teacher has been unsuccessful at subscribing, getting back a message that
this doesn't exist.  It's is a listserv that automatically sends information on
earthquakes greater than 5.0.

Does anyone know if kthis listserv has died in the meantime?  I don't find ti
listed on one of the lists of listservs, but wondered if perhaps it had changed
its name and/or address.

Would appreciate any guidance you might have.  TIS
