Elem : Literature Circles

We have been participating in the Great Books program for many years.
However, more and more of our teachers do not like the literature
selections.  We are considering starting literature circles.  Do any of you
do this in a K-5 school setting?  How do you get started?  Who selects the
books?  Which students are in this program?  How often do you meet?  Please
