School Library Journal had an article on writing Acceptable Use Policies in their August 1996 edition. You may want to consider a strong policy that parents and students would need to sign, placing the responsibility on them if misused. I've heard that when a blocking system is installed the librarian, in a sense, is taking responsibility for what the student accesses. Whereas with an AUP, the responsibility is on the user.
