SEC: Research topics guidelines

"an eight page paper on DOGS" etc - This is certainly a problem - but it is
usually of the _teachers_ making, not the students. Any guidelines should
be firstly for the teachers -  use BIGSIX or similar for both teachers and
students. If the teacher is clear about requirements (purpose, length,
topic, medium, style etc) should be explicit. "Find all you can about dogs"
is depressingly frequent and absolutely to be deplored!
