1. I have a retired teacher (retired from my school) who has been with me since we started automation 4 years ago. She knows my collection and was present when I set the catagories up. She has done tons of data entry for me. She has been a lifesaver in that she can sit and add books to the computer withour interruption where I cannot. 2. I have one parent who has been with me for several years. She comes on Wed. morning and stays from 9:30 to 11:30. She handles circulation. At this time if I need to do a special lesson or project cooperatively with a teacher, we can do so without interruption and the library is still open for those who come at will to check out books or spend a little free time.(listening center, computer, read magazine etc.) 3. I have had several parents come on different days at the end of the day and help reshelve books. 4. I have in the past taughjt parents book repair. 5. I have had parents read to students. I find that for the most part , good volunteers can do most anything under the supervision of the librarian excluding weeding and materials selection.
