Hello! I apologize for the delay. I'm finally catching up on some hits I promised long ago. First, regarding a solution for the challenges of absenteeism in block scheduling. I only had two responses. Maybe it's not so much of a problem as we are anticipating! Date: Fri, 18 Oct 1996 10:01:06 -0500 (CDT) From: Nelson <nelsonb@sls.lib.il.us> Comrade Linda: All activities must start after the last block is over for the day. They have been adamant about that here (our first year of block 4). As for student absences, it is a problem. I know of no solution. Also, field trips are a problem for the same reason. And, no solution there either. Personally, I think this "fad" will pass too. Meanwhile, the library is busy and the kiddies are learning and that is the reason for it all. Good luck. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^ Bruce J.
