MID: decades unit

Our middle school is developing a thematic unit on the 20th century by
decades.  The major concept is change and we are focusing on five areas:
home & family life
work
school
sports
music and entertainment
Any ideas for lessons, activities, or resources would be greatly
appreciated.  Also, there is interest in showing movies that connect to
the years being studied--any ideas there?  Thanks!
