We will be planning our "first ever" technology open house this
fall...during American Education Week. We would love to hear from those of
you out there that have already done this type of open house....we need
ideas of what others have done that have been successful....of how you
actually structured the night, etc. Did you use kids a lot to demonstrate?
What works, what doesn't???

Some of the technology we have:
1. online catalog system connected with our library system...students can
request materials from 62 some academic, special, school and public
libraries...search our only library, etc.

2. completely networked school with a lot of different software programs...

3. We have a 56-k line connection in our school which allows us to connect
to the WWW...many teachers are doing online curriculum projects...

4. A new flatbed scanner....students are beginning to use this technology...

5. Fax (an old, yet form of technology)....connections...many of our
periodicals are received via fax

6. Laserdisc techonology....we own 2 laserdisc players....and a variety of
laserdisc titles.

7. E-mail capabilities

I listed this in hopes that you have a better idea of what we have right
now...if you have ideas on how to set all this up...share with us, PLEASE...

Thanks in advance for ALL YOUR HELP!! My principal knows that the LM_NET
family always comes through!
