TECH:fiber optics

        Having just passed a bond issue, we are now planning on a new high
school building in two years.  My principal wants me to learn what the
prevailing opinion and predictions are on fiber optic cable for a LAN.  He
wonders if we should plan on using fiber optic cable within our building
instead of the 10-base-T twisted pair we use now.   Or is there something
else on the horizon that will replace fiber optics by then?
        Please share any thoughts or any suggestions on where I can turn
for info?
