Subject: Workshop: India in the classroom

Education about South Asia-Vidya, Inc. is sponsoring a workshop titled
"India in the Classroom" on Saturday, October 19th from 8:30-4:30 at Albany
Middle School, (near Berkeley) in Albany, CA. The Workshop includes panal
discussions on the difficulties in teaching about India, the definition of
South Asia, South Asia and the California History/Social Science Framework,
and how to critically examine educational resources. Breakout sessions will
be held on practical instructional strategies for teaching about India on
the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. For more information
