GEN: Reading skills

I am interested in teaching a reading improvement class to students in
grades 9-12.  I am looking for materials that would teach reading skills,
particularly comprehension.  Has anyone tried this before?  This would be
about 130 hours of instruction, so I am seeking any ideas you have.  For
materials, please list publishers.  This would be a course to help
students become better readers.  Thanks for your help. Please respond to
