I got several responses that varied.  From a preservation
viewpoint, laminating was strongly discouraged.  Some had
photos ruined by heat.  Ultrasound pictures can be blacked
out.  Some laminated photos with success.  I plan to tell the
laminator-to-be to do so at his own risk, and of course to
think twice about whether it is necessary at all :-) .
