Junior Great Books

Hello to all of you!
        Do any of those of you who are middle school media specialists
have a Junior Great Books program at your school?  I am working at a brand
new middle school and the faculty has been asked what extracurricular
activities they would be interested in sponsoring.  One of the teachers of
gifted students is interested in this program and asked me if I could find
out about it.  As far as I know, no school in my district currently
participates.
        If your school has this program, do you order individual copies of
the books for the media center?  I have already begun a Community of
Readers program to encourage reading but it has neither the structure nor
the emphasis on the "classics" provided by this other program.
