Windows 95 error

The business teachers have recently setup the new Windows 95 machines and
now want to login to our existing Novell 3.12 network; however when they
try  to login using the shortcuts method they get to login and then when
they type the password it tells them an error 9ffff has occurred and lets
them in anyway,  There is no way to change the password for students who
forget etc and it is causing us get unhappiness.  Would you, could you help
us?  We do not know if it is Novell, Microsoft  or the menu system but
something is wrong??
