TECH: bar code location and protectors

I know this has been discussed and I will search the archives but if someone
saved or can remember when and send the info privately to one of the
addresses in my signature, that would help.   We are near the end of a
retrospective conversion and are trying to decide where to put barcodes.
 Outside would be easier if we had a portable scanner (but we don't yet);
 inside will protect the bar codes from damage.

What about the plastic stickers for protection?  They seem good for the Dewey
call number on the spine, but if we put the bar codes inside we probably
won't need them.  ?????

Our circulation is relatively low;  there are 221 students in grades 6-12.
