Today for April Fools for the second through fifth graders, our Computer Specialist and I passed out a thick packet of (recycle bin) paper with a cover sheet that said "Standardized Testing - Computer and Library Skills - April 1997 - Do NOT Open until instructed by your supervisor." We told them that at a certain time (9:45 or whenever), kids across the state would be taking the same test and that it would take 3 hours. When the second hand hit the 12, we said they could open to the first page only. Of course, on that page, it said in VERY tiny print "April Fools!" and boy, were they relieved! They all laughed and said that was a good one! Happy April! :) Monica C. McQueen, Librarian monica@server.fas.pps.k12.or.us French American International School Portland, Oregon
