I had asked the listserv about the word for fiction characters' names
when it exemplifies their personality.  And my brother knew it:  aptronym
is the name that matches its owner's occupation or character, often in a
humorous or ironic way, such as William Rumhole, a London taverner.  (The
Oxford Companion to the ENglish Language).  mking, media specialist,
Parchment Middle School, Parchment, Michigan.
