Friends: Today's (4/30/97) Denver Post offers an article entitled "Group threatens suit to force book's removal." It seems "the Colorado chapter of the American Family Association has threatened to sue the (Pike's Peak) library district if officials don't withdraw a Howard Stern book that it says contains pornography and obscenity." Frankly, this is great, for the AFA's position itself is obviously obscene (or simply hilarious). Just wanted to help you stay abreast. (Oops! Can I still say that word? I might get filtered!) By the way, who is this Howard Stern (not that it matters). Have fun! Jeff Kirkpatrick ***** The individual or institution which fails to honor and support viable libraries is simply not credible. For, a library, as a society, is people, sharing in trust, for their mutual benefit and edification. The naive who fail libraries fail themselves. 'Nuff said. Jeffrey E.
