The nonfiction shelf marker thread was very interesting. I would very much like to know what systems you have invented/borrowed/adapted to help your kids, particularly the K-5 range, find books more easily. We librarians are a very innovative bunch, creating all kinds of materials and systems to fit the needs of our schools. What ways do you help your kids when they are in the nonfiction? the fiction? any special systems for picture books? have you created other sections to meet the needs of your school? Send me descriptions of what you've found works for you. I'll compile a hit and share the wealth of ideas. -- Johanna Halbeisen Woodland Elementary School(K-4) Southwick, Mass jhalbei@k12.oit.umass.edu =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to: listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write either: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET or 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST For more help see LM_NET On The Web: http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
