Greetings In two weeks school opens and I will have 18 new computers in the library all connected to the interent. After speaking to a board member I am getting nervous about my choice of not putting a blocking or filtering software like CyberPatrol on these computers. This is a very conservative, fundementalist Christian community. What programs have you been using? How successful are they? Are they easily by-passed by students? Does is satisfy parents? Administrators? Which program would you recommend? I did review the archives but would like more information. I'm also updating my AUP. On the brighter side I am starting a library club and Cyber Cafe in the library that the students will manage. We are working with a local coffee house and they are leasing us a professional expresso maker and teaching us how to make mochas, lattes, etc. This is also making me nervous but it will be exciting to to try a little Barnes and Nobles marketing in the LMC.
