Dear Friends: I have been assigned to an elementary building this year.(I've been H.S. for years) I was under the (mistaken) impression that I would meet classes once per week, as has been done previous years. However, I will be seeing all classes at least twice per week, and all 5th & 6th graders three times. Twice a week sessions don't surprise me, I can see a story/book talk session with book checkout one time and a library skills lesson the other time. Since they are older I am thinking of doing a two part skills lesson on the second and third visits. Unless someone out there has a better idea. All these sessions are 1/2 hour. Does anyone out there see some classes three times per week? If so, what is your general plan for those days? And, do your students receive a grade on their report card for library? It seems to me that they should at that point! (we currently don't, but I am trying to change that) -- Luann Maher, District Media Specialist/H.S.
