TARGET: Planning/Equipping New Media Center Facilities

My school system is in the process of planning the archtectural design
for a new, consolidated middle school. I have been challenged to provide
input for the new school library media center facility.  Any direction,
advice, sample floorplans, "dos & don'ts," and specific standards on
designing and equipping an exemplary facility would be very helpful. I
must also submit a proposed budget for: print materials, AV/multimedia
materials, furniture, shelving and equipment to fund the start-up of the
new media center. I also have been asked to recommend specific vendors
and items needed in equipping the same. --A big task at any time, but
more so here at the startup of a new school year! Please share and I
will summarize in a "hit."
