Elem?: target> mistletoe story

A few years ago, I remember a teacher telling the story of
mistletoe--something about the poor little mistletoe being given the job of
climbing to the top of the trees to be the lookout for the Christ Child,
and it didn't have time to get ready itself, but it was rewarded in the end
by being able to grow in the top of the trees without roots??  As I
remember, this story was told and as far as I know wasn't in a book.  Does
anyone know whether it exists in a picture book format?
