Hi- I am hoping some of you in K-5 or K-6 schools could take time to share with me what are your top 5 CD-ROMs? We have one nice new Compac Presario PC in our Media center, and although we have some older Macs with older CD-ROMs, I would like to get a few new basic reference CD-ROMs for use on this new computer. A parent group has offered to donate 5 CD-Roms to the Media Center. It is my fifth and sixth graders I especially want to target with these, though something for third and fourth graders would be good too. I am leaning toward the explorer title that was recently mentioned on this list. Is the Nat Geog. Mammals title something useful for this age group? How about Encarta? Groliers? First Connections? Are these encyclopedia CD-ROMs up to date? Is there a great Native American CD-ROM at the 5th grade level? What about ancient civilizations for sixth grade? If you have a minute please jot down you favorite 1-5 in order. Thanks. Diane Diane Holzheimer Library Media Specialist Nathaniel P.
