ELEM: Hero requests

Hello to those few of you still in cyberland!  I'm searching for a
poem approp. for elem with 'hero' as a theme. Heroism - when compared
to say 'rainforest' -  does not appear to be a hot topic right now.
I'm finding so little that I'm amazed! Also, in making my list of
heroes for potential 4th grade research with limited resources, I'm
full of the old tried and trues and wonder if any of you have one or a
handful that you could contribute?  I'm defining a hero as one who has
done something to help humanity/the world. After our research, we'll
make "Wanted: Hero" Posters. Hope there are more than 5 of you still
