Happy New Year!

I've been fiddling around with LM_NET's new LM_Live service and think
it's another great service put together for us by Peter and Mike and the
good folks at Syracuse University. Thank you, all!

Wanna give it a try? I'll be online ready to chat at 3:00 p.m. Eastern
Standard Time this afternoon (yes, it's New Year's Eve). If you have the
IRC software up and running by then, let's chat! Here are the steps
needed to get yourself going:

LM_Live! is announced. Go to http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/

Click on the LM_Live link here and go to another screen regarding
LM_Live. Click on the LM_Live link there and you will be asked for a
username and password. Use "lm" for the former and "live" for the
latter, without the quotation marks. This will take you to a page where
you will read all about it and find a link to downloading the required
software for Mac and IBM.

And you are on your way. Somewhere in all that you can read the
transcript of the first LM_Conf online conference, which is a little
like an organized Chat. These LM_Conf sessions, whether formally set up
or informally, are, to my mind, where the real value of LM_Live will
reside.
