Dear LM_Netters, A kindergarten teacher at my school recently gave birth to her first child. He had some problems and has just gone home after spending his first 3 weeks of life in neonatal intensive care. The teacher's students and their parents would like to place a book in the media center in his honor. The teacher is also a dear friend of mine and one of the kindest, most generous souls you could hope to know. Needless, to say, we want a special book. Do you know of some book that speaks about joy and hope, that would be somehow uplifting? I am certainly willing to select more than one title, so multiple suggestions are welcome. BTW, if you say prayers please say one for this little boy and his family. He was born with paralyzed vocal chords and had to have a tracheotomy at 2 weeks of age. His parents, grandparents and all caregivers had training in maintaining the tubes and he was able to go home at 31/2 weeks. Our staff considers him "ours" and are still praying that this problem could reverse itself with time. Thanks for any and all of you helpful suggestions.
