Our state newspaper had an article today about year-round schooling. The author listed the benefits for taxpayers, claimint this change would save them a lot of money. Could someone who works in a school that is open all year explain to me how this can be less expensive. Are the savings realized by downsizing the teaching staff? The author of this article claims students would learn better under this system. Is this true? And, finally, how does this type of change affect a school library and its staff? Please respond to me not to the list.
